New York In 30 - Day 2

Ready To Face Whatever's Awaiting Me in N-Y-C

It's a source of never ending mirth to look back at some of my old writings and reminisce about an era gone by, revisit a frame of mind, and reliving all the emotions that accompany each of these cross sections of time.

It's particularly amusing to see what things brought me joy that today I might consider commonplace, uninteresting, or even, God-forbid, irritating. As I explored the past I can't help but smirk at the naivete of a California boy getting out and building a relationship with NYC. Cases in point:

1. Did anyone ever really care that I rode the subway alone?

2. Has anyone truly written this poetically about public transit?

3. Is Roosevelt Island really that interesting?

Sometimes I wonder if I will ever again live in a place that will inspire such awe. While the next chapters hold a lot of exciting changes, nothing will live up to September 2008
