Mind Boggling Phenomena - Super-Absorbant

I joined a gym today, oh boy....*

This gym really is a nice place: friendly staff, clean facilities, new equipment, sauna/steam room, etc. etc. etc. "So what's so mind-boggling about this?", you're asking.
I'll tell you:

With every new memberships comes a nice little goody bag, just as a "Thank-you-for-giving-us-waaay-too-much-money" gift. In this goody bag are the items depicted in the picture below. My particular favorite is the little pink box all the way to the right and top of the picture. I should be getting some good use out of that... :/

Just as an FYI (because inquiring minds want to know), the rest of the items are tooth whitening strips, an energy bar, a small bag of coffee, a razor and some shaving cream (now these I thought are super cool), body wash, two samples of cologne, and some hair ties (you know, so I can hold my luscious head of hair back).

*276 points to whoever can identify the song reference in the first line of this post.

I'm assuming you want a clue for the 276 point question?
Well here you go:
"The sergeant's lonely day comes to an end."

A Day in the Life, written by John Lennon, and the lyrics (to the 3rd verse) are: "I read the news today, oh boy, 4,000 holes in blackburn, lancashire, and though the holes were rather small, they had to count them all, now they know how many holes it takes to fill the albert hall"
I'm already scheming about how I'm going to spend my 276 points...

Hi, classmate!
Arrived here via Paul's blog. Just wanted to let you know -- you can always use the tampons to stop a nosebleed. Seriously -- one of the 2nd yrs did when he was an intern.
So, somewhat useful...
Hope all is well in NYC :)

I burst with pride! Congratulations, Ms. Caroline, you are correct!
Personally I enjoy the second verse:
"I saw a film today, oh boy
The English army had just won the war.
A crowd of people turned away
But i just had to look
Having read the book."
This directly contrasts the first verse in which a group of people watch a man die in a car accident and they "stood and stared" but the movie they turn away from.
Favorite Beatles song, hands down. And yes, I AM that big of a dork.
