By now the readership is fully aware of Your Humble Observer's tendencies to start new features with big flashy introductions and promises to keep the feature fresh... only to have them fade away into oblivion...

This society fails to shock me anymore with how utterly absurd we've become. Absurd. Entitled. Irrational. Aloof. Oblivious. Worst of all: IGNORANT.
Of all the entities that prey on our ignorance one of the worst offenders, and the highlight of this feature, is the news media. This is not "BREAKING NEWS" or a "NEWS ALERT" to anyone, but, dammit, I have this forum and I'm going to use it. So here goes: YHO vs. BIG MEDIA (mainly because if I chose to take on the government or the NSA I would get nowhere except Guantanamo... is that thing still open?)

Pope: I Once Was A Bar Bouncer

I mean really. Is this front page of CNN, breaking news worthy? I mean, it's a cool story if you read through, highlighting the seemingly humble origins of, at least at the time of this writing, a relatively popular pope. But let's pull ourselves together here. A cool story? Sure. Breaking News: NOPE!
Ok, now tell me why I'm wrong.
